ABOUT HR FOCUS
HR Focus was founded in 1996 by Davina O'Mara. Before setting up her own business, Davina worked in personnel management for over twenty years in electronics, printed circuit board fabrication, and food manufacture. Davina is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a Member of the Edinburgh South Chapter of Business Network International.
What kind of work do we do?
We apply our deep knowledge and broad experience in human resources management and employment legislation to save our clients money, time, and legal headaches.
How do we charge for our work?
We work on time-based fees, and we can offer rates per hour, per half-day, or per day. That way, you remain in control of expenditure, and you can turn us on and off like a tap!
We also work on an annual contract basis for established clients. In return for an agreed monthly retainer, you can "call off" support from us in units of as little as an hour at a time, and obtain telephone or e-mail responses to quick queries.
Why do we work this way?
We offer these "outsourced" services because organisations often need the help of a human resources specialist, but perhaps not so often that they can justify or afford employing one permanently. We aim to provide you with all of the benefits of a human resources department, but with none of the employment costs or liabilities.
Where do we work?
Situated in the heart of the Scottish Borders, HR Focus has served clients as far as Inverness to the north, and County Durham to the south. We are happy to accept engagements throughout Scotland and northern England.

HR Focus has worked with clients in the electronics, printing, building, and hospitality industries, to name but a few. We believe our services are particularly useful to SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) or owner-managed businesses, allowing them to focus on what they do best, while we do what we do best on their behalf.
